Proud Pop-Up Market Event

After seeing this blog, the first question that comes to mind is, "What is the Proud Pop Up Market Event?" The Proud Pop-Up Market is a program established to promote black-owned businesses. They organize pop-up markets and events to celebrate and strengthen diversity and Afrodiaporean culture.

One of our team members visited one of their events in Köln, Germany, on 8th June 2024. He captured some pictures of the event and shared their experience. The photos and their experience at the event will be shared here for everyone to see.

The following are his exact words:

"On June 8th, 2024, I was invited to the Proud Pop-Up Market event organized in Köln, Germany. The event spanned over two days, and I attended on one of the days. I was truly impressed right from the start. I took a walk around and found that all the necessary facilities such as food, restrooms, and seating were available and well-maintained. This might not seem like a big deal, but it can make a huge difference during a prolonged event. I applaud the organizers for their attention to detail.

I ventured inside and received a warm welcome. I was given a tour of the event and then started exploring on my own. I was amazed by the wide variety of products on display. I met a gentleman in the IT field who was offering discounted courses, and that's when my adventure began. The products for sale were diverse, including edible goods, clothing, skincare and hair care products, indoor furniture, online courses, and much more. What made it even more special was that the sellers were showcasing products they had made themselves.

I am grateful for the invitation and thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I highly recommend that everyone attend this event the next time it is held. My name is Nana Kwame, and this was my experience at the Proud Pop-Up Event."
